Burn Permits
- Open burning allowed only between October 1 and April 30. During this time, open burning will not be allowed if there is a burn ban in effect.
- All items below must be met for a burn permit to be issued.
- Any fires must be extinguished before dark.
- If there are any complaints of excessive smoke, the fire will have to be extinguished.
- Permit holder is liable for any damages to property and adjacent structures from the fire set under this permit.
- This permit shall be surrendered for examination by Fort Thomas Fire or Police.
- This permit is only valid for the date of issue. If a renewal is needed, permit holder must call the Fort Thomas Fire Department on the date desired for renewal.

The permit is valid only on the date and times specified.
A new permit shall be required for each day on which fires are to be set. Permits are issued with the following conditions:
- That a fire break of a minimum 10 feet shall be maintained in all directions.
- That a charged hose line be kept at the fire at all times.
- That an adult be in attendance at all times.
- That no accelerating fuels or agents be used to induce burning, except by special permit.
- That fires be completely extinguished by darkness, except by special permit.
- That complaint of excessive smoke can cause the immediate revocation of the fire permit.
- That the holder of the permit shall be held liable for damages to adjacent structures and/or property resulting from fires set under this permit.
- Fire permits shall be surrendered for examination by personnel from the Fire or Police Departments of the City of Fort Thomas.
