Andy Ellison Sworn in as Mayor of Fort Thomas

Please welcome Andy Ellison as the new Mayor of Fort Thomas. Ellison was sworn in on Thursday after being appointed during the special Council Meeting on December 2.

A graduate of Johnson Elementary and Highlands High School Class of 1991, Ellison served as the school president and was a member of the 1989 state champion Highlands Football Team. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Kentucky University and went on to build a construction and property management business based in Fort Thomas, where he has worked for the last 25 years.

He has been on the Fort Thomas City Council since 2022 and chaired the Law, Labor, and License Committee and also sat on the Finance, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation Committees.

Ellison and his wife, Molly Ellison, also a lifelong Fort Thomas resident, have raised three children — Annie, Eli, and Drew— all of whom attended Saint Catherine and Highlands High School.

Due to the appointment of Mr. Ellison to Mayor, there is a vacancy on City Council. If interested in applying for this position, you can find more information on the City’s website or follow this link: https://fortthomasky.org/2025/12/03/notice-of-vacancy-fort-thomas-city-council/ .
