FTFD Recognized As St. Elizabeth’s “Crew of the Quarter” 2025

“The actions of this crew show a strong dedication to your patients in the community and a meaningful willingness to collaborate with the staff at St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas E.D.”

Lt. Sam Behrle, Firefighter/Paramedic Brandon Fromeyer, and Firefighter/Paramedic Matt Fite have been recognized by the staff at St Elizabeth Fort Thomas for a run that occurred on December 27, 2024.  As part of St Elizabeth’s ongoing efforts to build stronger relationships between St. Elizabeth Emergency Departments and the region’s Emergency Medical Services, they have re-introduced their “Crew of the Quarter” recognition. These recognitions come directly from ED staff including staff nurses, assistant nurse managers, and nurse managers.  After careful review of submissions, the Fort Thomas crew has been recognized for outstanding care in the first quarter of 2025!

The crew nominations States:

“This squad group including their (LT) were called in the middle of the night to help us transport one of our own who was actively having a stroke and needed to be taken to UC. We called dispatch to ask for a huge favor as Fort Thomas’s policy is to not transport to the floors and only do ER to ER transfers. I called, awaking the medics to ask if they could make an exception to their policy. Before I could even get the question out Sam stated they would be there no matter what once I told them who it was. Our beloved co-worker had a massive stroke and needed emergent transport.

They came no questions asked.

They helped me transport the patient to the ICU. We stayed after dropping her off and they helped me to decompress in the medic room. I needed a laugh and support given the situation and I knew the outcome was not going to be a favorable one. We as a department appreciate their help ALL the time, but this felt more personable, and the favor was one that deserves a huge shout-out for helping. They are great medics and friends. Thank you so much, Sam, Matt, and Brandon. We appreciate you in this difficult time.”

Great job Behrle, Fite, and Fromeyer on your ongoing work in our community and representing the FTFD!
