The Campbell County Board of Appeals hears appeals on property tax assessments and other property related issues. The boards responsibilities include:
- Determining the value of property and other matters related to property tax assessments.
- The board of appeals requires 3 members, one being a member of the largest city by assessment (currently Fort Thomas).
- Each member has extensive knowledge in the Campbell County Real Estate market, with at least 5 years of experience in the county, such as Realtors, appraisers, and brokers.
- Per KRS 133.045, the board shall convene no earlier than twenty-five days and no later than thirty-five days following the conclusion of the tax roll inspection period.
- The board meets from 9 a.m. to no later than 4:30 p.m. each day with an hour for lunch. They meet no less than 3 days and generally no more than 5 days but could go up to 7 days depending on the work load. Board members will receive $100 per day for their time.
