Campbell County Issues Burn Ban Due to Fire Danger

Campbell County Judge/Executive Steve Pendery has issued an emergency declaration prohibiting “all outdoor burning” throughout the county until further notice due to the lack of adequate rainfall and increased fire danger.

William R. Turner, Director of the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management, explained that
this burn ban was issued after consultations with fire chiefs across the county.

  • The burn ban is in effect county-wide until sufficient rainfall occurs.
  • Residents are prohibited from burning trash, grass, crops, lighting campfires, or setting bonfires.
  • Non-compliance with the burn ban could result in fines and other civil actions, especially if
