As we approach the holiday weekend, we wanted to remind you that Rumpke service will occur on schedule the week of May 27. Please place material at the curb the night before your scheduled collection day.
Curbside Reminders
As we usher in the summer season, please be sure to follow these disposal guidelines:
· Pool chemicals and other items marked as flammable or hazardous don’t belong in trash or recycling bins. Please contact your local solid waste district for disposal options.
· Lithium-ion batteries – like those used in yard equipment, cell phones, or laptops, shouldn’t be placed in curbside containers. They can ignite when compacted in garbage trucks.
· Latex-based paint is accepted curbside; however, it must be completely solidified prior to collection. To solidify, place kitty litter in the paint and mix until it becomes solid. Please remove the lid from the container and place the container outside of the trash can.
· To properly dispose of charcoal embers and spent fireworks, please completely soak in water prior to placing in trash.
